Jason White Earns Spot In ’07
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Opener
Virginia’s Jason White will return to
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series action Friday night
after posting the 35th quickest lap Thursday
evening in qualifying for the first event of
the 2007 NCTS season.
White, piloting the No. 63 GunBroker.com Ford
F-150 for Mike Mittler’s MB Motorsports,
will make his first career start in a truck at
the “World Center of Speed”, and
returns to the series after a nearly four-year
hiatus.
“I’m glad we’re in the show,” said
White who posted a lap of 52.418 seconds at 171.697
MPH locking him into the 35th starting position. “I
really thought we would have picked up, but we
slowed down. We knew the car wouldn’t be
the best by itself, but we’re pretty solid
in the draft.”
White, who will make his 12th NCTS start Friday
continued, “I drafted with Mike (Skinner),
Todd (Bodine) and Ted (Musgrave) and we were
able to stay with them, so that’s very
encouraging. We’re looking for a great,
solid run for GunBroker.com and MB Motorsports
Friday and I think it’s achievable. We
hope to avoid any early carnage and be around
when it counts.”
The Chevy Silverado HD 250 (100 laps-250 miles)
is the first of 25 events on the 2007 NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series schedule. The race will
be broadcasted live on the SPEED channel beginning
at 8:00pm EST with a pre-race show scheduled
for 7:30pm EST. MRN will handle the airwaves
starting at 7:30pm EST. The race will also be
available via Sirius satellite radio channel
128 also launching at 7:30pm EST.
