Waterloo Tool Storage Team Ready For SUMMERFEST Run At Milwaukee
Mile
Larry Gunselman and the #63 Waterloo Tool Storage Ford team are prepared to
have a “SummerFest” run in the GNC Live Well 200 race at the famous Milwaukee
Mile.
Race fans and crews have an opportunity to enjoy good competitive racing at
the Milwaukee Mile during the day, and relax in the evening, enjoying excellent
music with plenty of food and drinks at the “SummerFest” festival on the lakefront
of Lake Michigan. What a great way to start the summer!
“We are ready to race,” commented driver, Larry Gunselman. “We took a
few races off to prepare our fleet of trucks and engines for the Midwest run
of races the next several weeks. It is a great place to race with the large
crowd in town for the Truck and Busch races, plus the “Summerfest” festival
at the Lakefront Park. This track has been around for a long time and has a
lot of history with all the famous drivers who have run here. This is my first
chance to run the Milwaukee Mile and I’m looking forward to it. We plan to have
a good run and put our team’s name in the Milwaukee Mile history book.”
"The Milwaukee racetrack has been one of our favorite tracks to run," stated
crew chief and owner, Mike Mittler. "I have been coming here since the early
1980's and Milwaukee was our first NASCAR Truck race in 1995. We have competed
here every year since then."
"The Milwaukee race will start the grueling summer race schedule for us," continued
Mike Mittler. "We plan to run the next six out of seven races, which all take
place in eight weeks. We have worked real hard to have our trucks and engines
ready for this demanding schedule. With a limited crew and mostly volunteer
help, we don't have much time to freshen or repair the equipment with this tight
of a schedule. We believe we're ready and plan to have several good runs."
The #63 Waterloo Tool Storage/MB Motorsports Ford Truck will run at Milwaukee
June 30th, Kansas Speedway on July 7th, Kentucky Speedway
on July 14th, Indianapolis Raceway Park on August 3rd,
Nashville on August 10th, and Chicago Motor Speedway on August 18th.
Plans are also set to run Texas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and
California Speedway.
The “GNC Live Well 200” NASCAR Craftsman Truck race will be broadcast live
on ESPN television and MRN radio at 12:00 noon Saturday, June 30, 2001.
