Waterloo Tool Storage Ford Looking For Another Good Run in
Kroger 225
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series thunders into the Bluegrass State this weekend
for the Kroger 225 at Kentucky Speedway. For MB Motorsports, it will be
their second trip to the facility. Driver Larry Gunselman will make his
first trip to the 1½-mile speedway.
Gunselman and MB Motorsports have two top-20 finishes in the last two races
and look to continue that success at Kentucky. Last weekend the
team finished in 16th place at the new Kansas Speedway, a track very
similar to Kentucky. They are both 1½ – mile D-shaped ovals with similar
banking.
"We seem to be in a groove right now and plan to keep the momentum going forward,
hopefully with a top-15 finish or better," said Gunselman. "We were able to
pick up on aspects of the Kansas track and want to do that again at Kentucky.
I'm excited to be going there and am looking for a successful weekend."
Owner and Crew Chief Mike Mittler is also looking forward to the race.
"This is the second year the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has run at the speedway;
so many teams don't have much history there. It puts everyone on pretty
equal footing. We had success there last year - finishing in 17th
- and hope to do even better this time," stated Mittler.
Larry Gunselman now sits in 21st position in the NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series driver standings and owner Mike Mittler is 25th in owners’
points.
The Kroger 225 will be televised live on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. Central on Saturday,
July 14th. MRN will have live radio coverage.
