MB Motorsports Supports Hometown
St. Louis Rams during Daytona Testing
St. Louis based MB Motorsports will be testing their #63 Waterloo Tool Storage
Ford this weekend at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series season opening race on February 15 and they’ll be supporting
their hometown NFL St. Louis Rams at the same time.
Testing at the 2½ mile facility began on Friday, January 18 and continues through
Sunday, January 20. The #63 Ford truck, still gray primer in color and
in the final stages of preparation for the season, is supporting bright
blue and gold “GO RAMS” stickers on the rear fenders.
The St. Louis Rams will host the Green Bay Packers Sunday afternoon in the
NFL Divisional playoffs at the Dome at America’s Center in downtown St. Louis,
just 50 miles from the MB Motorsports shop.
"A majority of the NFL season is played during the NASCAR off-season and the
MB Motorsports crew are avid fans of our hometown Rams," stated team owner Mike
Mittler. "We'll be busy preparing for the beginning our season during
Sunday's game but we look forward to watching the Rams in the Conference Championship
game next weekend."
This is the third year the Craftsman Truck Series will race at Daytona and
the team is excited to return. While encountering some bad luck, they
have run well at the historical facility.
In 2000, Jamie McMurray qualified in 21st and was running in 7th
position before being taken out in the big crash that injured Geoffrey Bodine.
The team finished in 20th position.
Last year, Larry Gunselman qualified in 29th and was running in13th
position with 2 laps to go before being hit and finishing in 18th.
